El titular de la Dirección de Desarrollo Económico y Turismo del Ayuntamiento de Mérida, José Luis Martínez Semerena, informó que el vuelo de Mérida a Guatemala, operado por Tag Airlines, se está consolidando exitosamente, por lo que la aerolínea está considerando cambiar el avión utilizado en esta ruta debido a la alta demanda de pasajeros.
Inicialmente, abundó, el servicio comenzó con un avión pequeño con capacidad para 20 a 25 plazas, sin embargo, debido a la creciente popularidad y ocupación del vuelo, que promedia entre el 85 y 90 por ciento, se está planeando la incorporación de un avión más grande con capacidad para 72 personas.
El funcionario municipal destacó que la ruta, no sólo ha sido bien recibida por los pasajeros de Guatemala, sino que también ha atraído a viajeros de El Salvador y Colombia, reflejando el potencial y la importancia del enlace aéreo entre estas regiones.
Señaló que la consolidación de este vuelo es un indicador positivo para el turismo y el desarrollo económico de Mérida, facilitando mayores conexiones y oportunidades de negocios entre Yucatán y otros países de Centroamérica y Sudamérica.
